Not BR, but this site's tamales are said to be close to those from Muffalettas in BR back in the day. I have not tried them.

I will be eating the beef tamales from Chris' for dinner tonight. I'll report back.

I was wondering about this place compared to La Reyna. What else do you recommend?

El Limon on Jones Creek has pretty solid Tamales. Get some of the spicy green salsa to go with.

Look up Mamita's Hot Tamales on Facebook. Figure out when they will be in NOLA southshore or Mandeville. Then go pick up a dozen.

They have beef ones and corn ones, both very good. They also have chicken ones which are HUGE and I don't think as good.

I’ve heard good things about the tamales at the Donut Shop. I grew up in Natchez and have had donuts from there countless times, but never had the tamales while I lived there. I live in the Jackson area now, and I usually ride over to Vicksburg to get Solly’s.

The donut shop is very good. More meat than the Fat Mamas tamales.
I used to go to Sollys all the time when I hunted on Togo Island. We’d get some tamales and some of the burgers with chili. Mighty good.

Solly's are unremarkable to me, as are the donuts shop in Natchez. The Tamale Place on the south frontage road in Vicksburg are several notches above either.

This is how I feel as well. Solly's are dry compared to the Tamale Place. Tamale Supreme and the burgers from The Tamale Place are not to be overlooked either.
