You can buy Delta tamales frozen at Joe Pope's in Rosedale and take em home put em in the freezer. When you get ready to eat put em in water and boil a minute or two. Can't tell the difference.

The best are called old style hot tamales on westbank IMO.
They used to have them across from Zephyr field in the parking Lot.

They're decent but not as good as the Latin American types IMO

Don't you expect the line gets fuzzy sometimes with the two styles?

I went into a south american place by my house where we could barely communicate. I asked for 10 tamales. They told me it would be $40 and asked if I was sure that was I wanted.

I cut the order back to 5. They were good, but it was def. closer to being a burrito than a tamale as far as size. Pretty good though.

I have been all around the Delta searching for great tamales. Hicks is pretty much perfection when it comes to the delta. I have a couple of places I want to try in Greenville still.

Powerman, my wife is from the Delta and agrees that the best Nola tamale is better than the best Delta tamale we have found

I've never had any of these tamales you speak of...but the frozen ones from Houma are pretty good.

What is it with you and Houma lately?

Are you working there now or something?
