Anyone tried their hand at homemade king cake or one of the mixes like Mam Pauls?

If so, how'd it turn out? got a good recipe?

Easier and less time consuming to just buy one.

Here is the recipe that my mom uses for her king cake. Leave out the cherries obviously.

By the way that is bound, I'd think that recipe comes out of the cookbook "Talk About Good". Especially with the recipe coming from a person with "eaux" at the end of her name.

It's from the Manchac Country cookbook. It was published way back when by the St. Gabriel Church KC Auxillary.

Good to know. That may be another one I can add to my collection.

My niece made the Mam Papaul's a few times. It wasn't very good. Not saying it was bad, but she tried it twice and deemed it unacceptable.
