Yeah

I'm going to try and collect some wild yeast samples pretty soon and will put a sample dish there. I'll probably pull 4 samples from around the backyard and then make a beer with the best smelling one.

Classin up the jockey box with lace and shrubbery.
Looks good.
Asshats at the fire extinguisher place still have my co2 tank for testing, so no brewing activities as of late because I'm backed up on equipment and no CO2 to start dispensing and freeing up equipment. Not like I've had time anyways.

I had to pull the questionable bottles out of your box but picked some stuff at the store tonight to replace them with. I hope to get it in the mail tomorrow.

C'est la vie. Speaking of hoppy wheat with brett, a few weeks ago I had the Boulevard 80 acre hoppy wheat. I really enjoyed it and thought to myself, "you know, this would be even better with brett." I know it will surprise everyone that I thought that.

I actually found a properly carbed bottle of Hurt Locker Ale tonight (my buddy named it that after a bottle blew up in his kitchen at 2:00 am the other night). I think it works perfectly. I am going to brew this again but double the citra and galaxy dry hopping but keep the rest of the hopping the same.

Finally got some Perlicks!!
Yes. Had B, Boo and Frat help with the brewing.
Very nice of them and they turned out great beers. Had lots of non mavens asking about the beers on tap.
Good luck with the wild yeast harvest RDS.
I seem to remember hearing that wild yeast sticks around oak trees or something like that.

It is pretty much everywhere. The trick is actually getting some that is usable. Supposedly areas with fruit trees / vines / etc are also good areas to look. Unfortunately, we only have some crepe myrtles, random bushes, and a non fruiting blackberry vine in our backyard.

My Christmas present came in early and my parents couldn't help but pass it over... So pumped to brew this weekend...

12.5 gal so I can finally brew some 10 gal batches. GOtta pull out the crawfish pot again. I brewed with that before I got my kettle. Until I get a good 12 gallon kettle the Crawfish pot will do.

Dang. That's pretty sweet. A lot taller than other ones I've seen. What brand is that?

Stout Tanks and Kettles.
You normally see the short and stout ones but this way it takes up much less "floor space". I like it going up. Very convenient to have a removable top and the craftsmanship is incredible. No weld marks or jagged edges.
I was very impressed when I got it in person how well it was built.
My grandparents, aunt and uncle, sister, parents, great grandparents all chipped in to get it. I wouldn't normally spend the money on this, but I had nothing else I wanted so it made a perfect Christmas gift for my family to give. Plus they like me brewing beer so they can drink it. haha
Still have to put wheels on it, but that'll come.

Had to have been 4+ oz on the vines. I think somebody from here took them home after the wedding to brew a beer. I'm cool with that.
I'd say 2 5/8 ounces. If I were to guess.

Wet?
Good deal. Glad you got them and put them to use.

Actually, didn't think to weigh them until I dried them out. So they were probably closer to 4 wet.

Coool... I usually weigh them wet and continue weighing them as I dry to determine how much I've dried them. Oh well. Let me know what you turn out with them.
Anyone try our wedding favors yet?

Probably gonna make a pale ale and dry hop exclusively with them.
Haven't opened either of the favors yet. Probably won't get to until next week at best. Out of town all weekend. Really looking forward to having another taste of tropic-ale and trying out the bourbon barrel chocolate porter.
Oh, I finally pulled the trigger on all-grain equipment. Merry Christmas to me.
