well there you go, I'm sure you can go to one of the BR clubs and see a brew day, or possibly catch an invitation from one of the posters here to see them make an all-grain batch

Nice!!!
I'll keep my eyes peeled for brew days and see some one can throw me a bone.

Anything to get me in.

No, no, no. All grain is a highly technical ordeal that requires the creativity of a fine artist. Only a select group of elites have the skill set necessary to brew all grain......and I bake my bottles in the oven with foil for caps (375 for an hour..consult Palmer's chart). That way no bugs get in after they are sterilized and I can store the bottles indefinitely and they stay sterile. I do keg now but always bottle off my keg to give to friends.

man, I have gotten lazy with my brewing. Used to be I couldn't wait to brew, or bottle/keg so I could drink it. Not like "mash one day, finally boil next week" bad, but maybe I'm getting there.
Now, I had the stuff to brew a porter sitting around the house for weeks, and I put the fermenter into the fridge last week to cold crash so I could keg it and still haven't bothered to do it.

I haven't brewed since November. Just horrible. I think I may brew a pale ale this weekend.

Any upcoming DIY Homebrew projects?
I want to try and do some of the following this year. Building my deck last year inspired me to try and build more of my own things. And brewing allows for almost everything to be constructed at home...if you have the tools (which i don't, at the moment.)
1) Add taps to beer fridge and make it a dual purpose beer fridge/kegerator. Need to clear out a bunch of beers first.
LINK
2) Build a 3 tier system, or single tier with pumps.
3) Build a simple RIMS system
LINK
4) Convert keg to mash kettle/boil kettle
LINK
LINK
5) Build a multiple bottle filler
LINK

I have a couple things on my DIY/upgrade list this year.
I've wanted a stainless steel conical since I started homebrewing and finally pulled the trigger on that this year. I ordered a 7.5G Chronical from SS Brewtech a couple months ago. I was supposed to have it mid-January, but I'm still waiting on it to ship due to the port labor issues out in CA.
I highly doubt it will make a difference in my beer, but it will be fun to play around with.
This is also on my list...
I've done both of these and they were fun.
I felt like my keggle mash was more of a pain in the arse than it was worth until I had a RIMS to maintain the temperature. During the winter, even with reflectix insulation I would lose 10-15F in the first 20 minutes. I went back to my cooler unless I needed that extra 5G of mash space.
Love my RIMS, it's not simple, but it's solid and there are only one or two things I would change if I did it again.
Have you used a counter pressure filler? I find that once I get in a rhythm I can fill bottles as fast as an assistant can cap them.

I have all the parts for my 3 tier, just don't have the time to build it. I'm going to frame it with a metal double bed frame.

I did this a few years ago.
I ended up putting 6 pack sides on the top and putting a layer of epoxy over it. It was cool.
Don't have anything on the agenda for now.

I just started brewing and I already got a DIY under my belt. I build me a brewing station from jump street.
Im at work at the moment. I'll try and remember to post a pic later today.

I haven't. Just googled it. Do they also carbonate the beer at the same time?
Oh wait, this has to be hooked up to a keg, doesn't it? No kegerator yet.

Once you have a kegerator I'd explore this option for bottling. You can borrow mine if you want to play around with one.
If I'm bottling more than 2-3 bottles or if the beer will be spending an extended amount of time in the bottle I always use CP filler.
It's fast, I get more consistent carbonation levels than any other bottling method, and I like that the bottles are purged with CO2 before filling to reduce the chances of oxidation during aging.

That doesnt seem like a bad price for all of that. Add a 5lb CO2 tank it would be around $250. Plus its FREE shipping!!

WTF is an assistant?
As far as upgrades go, the only thing I really plan to upgrade is my kegerator, if I can find a big enough chest freezer for a decent price. The wife got me a nitro tank, regulator and tap for Christmas, and I just haven't been able to integrate it into my current system. That will require drilling holes into the side to put both the CO2 and nitro tanks outside the fridge. If I'm gonna drill holes, I may as well get a bigger chest freezer and add more taps. I have enough regulators and kegs for 5 CO2 taps. I can find another keg for a dedicated nitro tap.
At least, that's my thinking anyway.
