Sorry if there are existing threads, but as we all know, TD search sucks. Looking for food and/or beer recommendations around Hobby Airport and southeast of it. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner thru Friday. I’m hoping to get some good Tex-Mex while I’m there for sure. Not fine dining, as I’m solo and wanting to stay close to my employer’s allowance (60/day). Whatcha got?

Pappas burger has the GOAT burger IMO. There is also a papacitos which is ok, the filet fajitas are tasty.

I think there is an El Tiempo open in Clear Lake now...a little ways down I-45 from Hobby.

Or uber over to Ninfa's or El Tiempo on Navigation in East Downtown.

There is a Bombshells a few miles south near Fuqua. Good atmosphere if there are games on, gets pretty loud at night.

For Mexican, I go to taqueria de Jalisco
408 Houston Blvd, South Houston, TX 77587

If you have someone who can speak Spanish, I like the chicken at La Fonda Taqueria.

South on Telephone Rd (35) until you hit 518, take a left, and a block away you will see the line for Killen's BBQ. Beef Rib, Mac N Cheese, Green Beans, and Bread Pudding.

You're welcome.

We've done it once. I don't mind standing outside in line and getting free beer.

Central Texas BBQ (lunch only) is the go-to for me. Brisket, sausages, and excellent sides. Slice of pecan pie to finish up.

Just made the drive back. Spring rolls with shrimp, pork, and peanut sauce were outstanding. And the beer selection was as well.
