I'm curious how the soft shell crawfish were?

There was only one crawfish, but it was a very big one with lots of meat in the tail. It was similar to eating a soft shell crab in that some parts are more crispy and some are more meaty. I'm not sure I've answered your question.

I was wondering how thin the shell was, and how much of the shell you could actually detect.. And if it's something you'd order again? It looks really interesting!

If you've ever had a soft shell crab, the texture of the "shell" is similar. It's not a hard shell. It's soft. All of it was detectable. I've had soft shell crawfish before a number of times, so I knew what I was getting. It's been a good while since I'd had one.

I'm not the best photographer, let me see what I can find.

The Little China Town thread made me think of this place I tried here in Virginia. Different type of Chinese food but great.

Dan Dan Noodles

Dumplings - not the greatest looking but flavor was great

Salt and Pepper Prawns (looked like shrimp to me lol)

Pork Won Ton in hot Chili Oil. Definitely my favorite. Don't frick around with this if you can't take heat.

All of the above were from Judy's Sichuan Cuisine in Chesapeake, VA. They also have a location in Virginia Beach.

Not the most picture worthy but a very tasty pizza

Amici's in Suffolk, VA

Fig and prosciutto pizza with goat cheese. The drizzle was some sort of red wine and fig reduction.

We made Matty Methson's Pickle Brined Fried Chicken recipe at my house one night. Wish I would have snapped some more pics. It was the bomb.

This is when I was in Kentucky

I made the eggplant dressing from one of Donald Link's cookbooks

If I recall correctly all I could taste was Cayenne. I'll have to remember my golden rule next time. Unless you're baking a recipe is useless. Trust your cooking skills and adjust all seasoning and salt as necessary.

It wouldn't be appropriate for me to throw pictures in here without some homemade Indian cooking

Starting the base for a curry with onions, ginger, cumin, and house made madras curry powder

Small batch of some tandori chicken

Chop chop MFers

Throw it into the sauce and let it simmer and soak up the flavors (the color is from tomatoes)

The final plating should be garnished with some cilantro and a drizzle of cream. Didn't take that picture because I was hungry AF and tore that shite up

Pastor tacos and queso especial from a place not far from my house

Chicken sandwich (they make great in house pickles) at 8TE restaurant in Corpus.

Mixing up a big batch of crawfish pasta for someone...can't remember who.

My girlfriend (at the time) likes chicken parm. About to go back in the oven.

Spago in Beverly Hills for lunch

Some sort of cucumber infused cocktail

Seasonal squash soup with some mushrooms. Wish I could remember a more detailed description because it was one of the best soups I've ever had.

Salmon cones

Calf liver and horseradish mashed potatoes

Out of this world butterscotch themed dessert

I would put that experience about on par with Commander's Palace which is probably my favorite NOLA restaurant. Definitely recommend.

You went to Spago!!!

I’ve been in Beverly Hills all week, but that’s not a dinner you can throw on the work credit card.
