Family decided they wanted to meet up at Cajun Palms this weekend. Any good local places around there to check out?

There is a small meat market/take out restaurant in a white building near the interstate.(Forgot the name) Their cracklins are great. Not traditional but they are very tasty!! As others have said Poche's is hard to beat for a grocery plate lunch restaurant.

There is a little joint north of the interstate on the left with decent boudin and they will make you a Tasso sandwich! Not immediately north... drive past the immediate stuff.

Also.... not sure if still as good as it used to be, but you can make a run to Breaux bridge and hit cafe des aimes.

What about Pat's. They used to be great, I've not been there in a while...

For lunch, check out Hebert’s grocery store. Great hotdogs, fried liver and gizzards. Try to park near the entrance. You can play a game while eating in your car with the kids. It’s called, who doesn’t have a tattoo. Fun times for sure.

About a 10-15 minute drive North is Bayou Teche Brewing. Good beer and fun time out there on Saturdays, live music lots of times, and the pizza they make is supposed to be pretty darn good (I haven't had the chance to try it yet).

Kid friendly as well.

Little Big Cup as well. Awesome little place on the Bayou Teche.

Cafe des Amis no longer exists. Cafe Sydnie Mae took its place.
