An Acadiana specialty meat market is expanding into the Baton Rouge market, with plans to open its first location this summer at 13375 La. 73 in Geismar’s Dutchtown Crossing Shopping Center. Franchisees Jesse Benedetto and Michael Stone are bringing Maurice-based Hebert’s Specialty Meats—home of the deboned stuffed poultry—to the Baton Rouge metro area. They also own the rights to open franchises in Baton Rouge and Livingston Parish.

Hebert's does boudin. It's pretty good. Don't know why they wouldn't make the boudin in Ascension. Pretty exciting development for the area. The stuff chickens and turducken are excellent.

Funny enough, I grew up in Vermilion parish but I never ate anything (that I know of) from Hebert's. I see BoudinLink gives them an A for their boudin.

Good luck to them. That market is hard to figure out. Not much "upscale" works.

I'm not big on stuffed meats but always excited about another food option in this area. Anybody know if they make cracklin?

Crawfish stuffed chicken rocks. I don't think its too overpriced but some peps on here will say it is. We get the tiger sausage , steaks, soups and chicken. Good cracklin and beef jerky too.

There is always someone on here who will claim that anything not $10 all you can eat or priced along the lines of Taco Bell is over priced

I saw the signs on the building and looks like refrigerators are inside. Anyone know when this is set to open?

You do know Leblanc's makes boudin at the Triple S in St. Amant, right? There is ok boudin in Ascension Parish and it's the cheapest you'll find anywhere.

I doubt it is as good as Heberts. Love their stuffed chickes, but their boudin has really grown on me the last couple of years.
