Sure wish we had one here. Here are a couple I picked up this past weekend. They were prime grade. The ribeyes were going for $17.99/lb and the strip was $15.99/lb. I loaded up.

It’s a shame we can’t do better than Rouses here locally for a large grocery chain.

Every time we go visit my in-laws in New Orleans...I shake my head at how poor the selections are at Rouse's, Breaux Mart, Langenstein's, compared to HEB.

Find a store with a butcher who will save you the Wagyu chuck eyes when they cut them.

Breaux Mart occasionally gets good steak.

Otherwise, it's the meat markets or straight from the slaughterhouse for us.

HEB is pretty damn nice to have around.

Fresh Market in Lafayette is good, but that’s just one store, and their items tend to be pricier than a chain like HEB. You’ve got one every five blocks in the Houston burbs area, it seems.

They forgot about the hot cast iron pan with just a touch of oil, about 3 minutes per side, depending on thickness. Chuck Eye is great, and usually a lot cheaper.

HEB is awesome. They’ve got some waygu fajita meat that’s great too.

HEB is the GOAT.

Been gone some years but our Rouses in Slidell was a very good grocery store.

Don’t know why a people here shite on Rouse’s. I couldn’t wait until I got one near my house in BR. Beats the hell out of any of the national chains. I will agree all Rouse’s are not equal. The one near Drusilla was converted from a high neighbor and doesn’t have the meat department and selection that other stores have. Sure it’s not perfect, but it has a good selection and reasonable prices. Might not be HEB, but I think it’s better than Publix, which is a good regional chain.

Agree.

The Rouses I'm familiar with is much better than Publix, Kroger, Harris Teeter's, and on.
