Taking a ride out to Acadiana on Thursday to try some places I’ve been wanting to try: Mr. T’s in Elton, Rhea’s in Basile, Eunice Poultry, Eunice Superette, Spot’s Corner, & Mel’s Quik Stop. Any place else in the area I need to hit up? Not going past Elton to the west, nor am I going north to Mamou. Staying close to 190 as much as I can.

Heard the boudin was solid. No?

What to get at Kelly’s?

After you get the speeding ticket in Krotz Springs, get a link or two from Kartchner's. It's on the eastbound side.

If you get to Rhea's early enough on Thursday, the plate lunch is ponce. Check out Redlich’s City Cash while you're there in Basile.

And hit Billy's across the road for fresh hot boudin balls!

Has anyone tried Tboys near Kartchner's?

Give us a follow up. Mr. Ts, Tboys and Billy’s are my favorite mentioned in this thread.

Agreed. Don’t stop there for boudin. The fried chicken and burgers and shrimp are solid though. Boudin sucks.

Redlich’s in basile is closed. For sure. It’s a shame you didn’t get to try their boudin. It was one of my all time faves.

Absolutely hit superette. Eunice poultry used to be fire also but I have not been there in a few years.

Mr ts in Elton is my all time favorite but the last time I was there, they missed the salt. It needed a little more. That being said, their smoked link is serious business.

Get some ribeyes from Mel’s but Mamou is 5 minutes from Mel’s so no point in passing up T Boys. Nonc Kev’s in Rayne is a must stop.

If you're going through Krotz Springs, you need to stop there. If you are too enthusiastic about leaving their fair burg, the local constabulary will ensure that you stop for a while, so check that speed coming down the bridge.

What? No, don't just stop at one place. ALL of them. Boudin is like their superpower.

I agree. Billy's for the balls. Kartchner's for links.

Headed home now. I didn’t stop by Billy’s, Kartchner’s, or Bourque’s because I get those pretty regularly and I’m familiar with them already. This time I wanted to venture a little farther west. I stopped at Mr. T’s, T-Boys, Mel’s, Eunice Superette, and Eunice Poultry. Also stopped by Rhea’s and got the ponce plate lunch (which I haven’t eaten yet). I also stopped at Pizza Shack in Opelousas and ate a pizza so I’m pretty full now. Tonight I’m gonna do a blind taste test to see what boudin I like best.
