He’s a farmer. Not pecans. I thought it may be a decent question to ask.

I’ve tried it and really enjoyed it. Give it a shot unless you have some sort of nut allergy.

Yes. Made many nut crusts in my day. Walnut, pecan, macadamia, cashew, and pistachio.
Use a food processor and pulse the nuts* until you notice them getting oily (2-4 times in one second intervals).
Add a bit of panko and pulse until you notice it getting a little oily again (2-4 times in one second intervals).
Repeat* 5-8 more times until you achieve a dry, crumbled texture.
*Use raw nuts when possible.
*Do not exceed a 3:1 ratio of nuts to bread crumbs.
Mix a little flour into the crust if you experience adhesion problems.

Read this and thought I was on the OT. I’ve made lots of differ t crusts but I usually stick to macadamia or almond. Pecan should be fine.

It would be easy to burn, I would think. Otherwise, probably tastes good.

Pan fried fish in clarified butter closely watched so the meal doesn’t burn is excellent

Years back, we often dined at Cypress Inn on the river in Tuscaloosa. They had a pecan crusted catfish that was excellent. Not sure that restaurant is still there. It was on the north side of the river, Somewhat across from Bama.
