PLEASE, PLEASE listen to Martini on this. After quite a few recs I used his method on my cast iron skillet and it was a great burger.

use the ice water to cool your hands and don't beat up the meat.

I added a little thumbprint in the middle of the patty (per A. Brown) and it was a 9.75/10.

She is a cook. She's not a chef- never had any training.

I personally like her, but I can see how she would annoy some people.

I have a book of hers and pulled about 10 from 365 that I would use.

Too be clear. Do you put salt and pepper on the patty when you are using the skillet technique as well? Or do you just put the salt in the skillet?

She's not bad looking. And, if she can cook anywhere near as good as advertised, that makes her a 10 in my book.

It keeps the patty together.

I tried it, and it worked perfectly.

It funnels all the juices to the middle of the patty rather than out the sides.

According to this it helps keep its shape and not shrink. Martini says it and it concerns grilling (so it must be true).

You must be from around Eunice/Iota/Opelousas huh? Nothing against them, I'm from a small town, but I find that everyone from there loves this stuff. Not good, imho.

I agree with you, the best burger needs no add ons....I mix ground round and ground chuck(it needs the fat from the chuck for flavor)...handling it as little as possible...then onto a hot grill....till med.
