Downtown has seem some nice additions in the last year or so. If only the bars/clubs that catered to urban youth and small town trash were to close...

No Chappy

It's I before E EXCEPT after C, AND when sounding like A as in neighbor and weigh, and on weekends and holidays and all throughout May, and you'll always be wrong NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY!"

FWIW, Hook & Boil in Broussard has some of the best raw oysters in Lafayette, I recently discovered. I've been the last couple of weekends, and am now a huge fan.

I've followed the oysters up with boiled dungeness crabs, which I had no idea how good they could be...

Been to the one in Gulfport and Hattiesburg, wasn't really that impressed. Haven't felt the need to try the one in Laffy when Abbeville is such a short and enjoyable drive. FWIW I avoid the Ambassador/Kaliste Saloom intersection at all costs.

I saw a few days ago that they would be opening where the Filling Station was. I didn't even know the FS had closed.

With a rooftop bar.

Also gonna call it the Filling Station by Hook and Boil, and keep some of the old menu items.

And to participate in the original topic, I haven't tried Half Shell yet but would like to. Someone I know had a good experience there.

They did a great job helping people during the flood.

I have not been to the one in Lafayette, but we have one here in central MS and it is pretty damn good. Food is not quite as good as Drago's, but the atmosphere is nicer and I like the menu selections better. they have several different flavors of charbroiled oysters, which I enjoyed.
