likely they get deliveries on Monday or Tuesday for the following week.

OP you are wrong and seem overall angry.
Hostesses are generally the lowest on the staff totem pole and have zero idea of how service industry works. She should have been told by a manager to inform customers.

OP has no idea with whom the hostess was speaking.
OP doesn't know if she was awful at her job. The hostess doesn't keep track of the food, but that point has been made many times in this thread. He refuses to accept it.

My brother has been a food services manager (including restaurants for decades).
He repeats the same statement over and over and over again to everyone he knows.
When you have an issue with the food, the waitress, the bartender, the busboy, the chef, or the hostess you do not blame them.
This is ALL the mangers fault because they either:
A) Trained them incorrectly.
B) Hired the wrong person and did not fire them.
Have to agree that quite honestly the hostess likely would never even be privy to the info from the kitchen. And likely she's a 17 year old high school kid that doesn't need to be yelled at.

All the bullshite service people have to deal with it one of main reasons it's so difficult finding anyone to work. You have no clue of what she was going through or went through to get to that point. Exercise your free right to spend your money somewhere else but cursing at a person about eating somewhere. I bet you sat on front row in church next morning too.
