Looking to make a trip to New Orleans soon. I really love delicious food but like nicer places and price is really no concern to me.
Which places should I try?
Although, it's not expensive at all, one of my favorite places of late is Maurepas Foods.
You have to be willing to overlook the hipster vibe, which is admittedly a bit over the top, but if you can do that (or if that's not the type of thing that bothers you -- it doesn't really me), I think it's one of the more interesting spots in town these days for food and drinks.

That opened in the past year or so right?

Gautreau's food is great, but the atmosphere is a big meh.
I'd throw in Bayona.

To each his own. I really like loud places.

The one time I ate at Gautreau's, I found it a little too subdued for my tastes.
It was sort of a slow weeknight, though.

It's not that it's loud. I'm just not a fan of the dining room. One main room with 1980s decor.
Food is worth a trip though.

So many good options, some of which I haven't yet tried. I'll give you my current top 5:
August
La Petite Grocery
Bistro Daisy
Bayona
Coquette
of all of those I'd probably have dinner at August. Ate lunch there today and it was just as fantastic as last time.

I've been to MilLa once and it was so terrible that I will never go back. I still have to try Root.

Nice list. I'd probably add Stella! to the list. Really love Coquette; I bet I have eaten there about 7-8 times in the last year.

Didn't care too much for Stella! the one time I ate there. Too much frill and not enough phenomenal cooking .. which is what I expect at that price.

I should have just kept walking when I saw it was empty
Got really good reviews on the internet. I think that might all be out of town folks with lower standards though
