Wanna bring the wife out for mother’s day Saturday while we are in gulf shores. Any recs on a somewhat formal/romantic place around there? Can’t venture out too far since we will be leaving the kids with some family members.

Fischer’s . The chef is from Algiers and learned from the best. Ask for Bill.

Besides a good view, you’d be better off taking her to Applebee’s.

I suggest Voyagers (inside Perdido Beach Resort) if your budget allows. Otherwise look at Fishers or Playa.

Best food in Gulf Shores is Sunset Corkroom. Off the beaten path, mostly local and cozy. You will have to head to OB for anything somewhat formal or romantic. But it’s only a 10 minute drive there. I like Villagio, Voyagers, Big Fish, Salt at San Roc Cay and Fishers upstairs for nicer meals.

And the dirtiest and most disgusting Hooters around. I crave those wings sometimes but will refrain from that location. I live 3 miles from it and haven’t eaten there in 3-4 years. Stopped a couple months ago and just had beer when I saw they still hadn’t cleaned up the place after the remodel.

It was remodeled? That place is pretty bad. I wouldn't take that store over without them dropping a bunch of money into it
