Grocery stores selling cold fried chicken. Are these all for picnics?

I don't see a lot of people picnicking nowadays so I assume people are buying it for a variety of reasons.

Honestly, in a lot of places, it's because EBT/Food Stamps can be used for cold chicken and not for hot fried chicken from the deli.

I take cold fried chicken on the boat with me every trip. Way easier than making sandwiches and its delish.
