We are visiting from Denver for the first time in 4 years or so. Running the Crescent City Classic on Saturday and stopping BR on the way to Lafayette for Easter. I intended to swing into Roul's Deli at Northgate as I've been craving the juicy juicy burger.

We'll be having plenty of crawfish and seafood in Lafayette. Wanted to know if his burgers are still wonderful, or if there is something new in the area that is a must-hit?

I'd go to The Merchant for a burger.

Is this near Perkin's Rowe? I can't find a burger in Denver that utilizes the spice/onion combination that Roul's has.

His burgers are pretty much the same.

But you may very will find that most of your love for the place is nostalgic. I get the feeling that "I remember this being better" may be uttered.

There no less than half a dozen burgers here that are better. But, if you just want the juicy juicy then go for it.

I say go to City Pork on Jefferson and get either the grand board or the braised pork belly sandwich. If you're really hungry go for the pork debris spring rolls for a starter. IMO City Pork is the best restaurant in BR right now.

Go to Southfin Poke. It's next to The Bulldog. You'll thank me later.

Curbside or Merchant burger is much better than Roul's for an out of town visitor in my opinion

I'll echo the suggestions in this thread for Merchant, Curbside, Southfin, and City Pork

None of the burger places listed have that spice/onion combination either. They will have better quality meat but take away the bun and toppings, and you're left with a lightly seasoned patty that you can find anywhere.

Shrimp Burger w/ grilled onions will always be tGOAT for me.

If you're looking for something other than a juicy juicy, try any of the places listed. They're all great and you won't be disappointed.

FYI Southfin is only Poke. No burgers there.

I'd argue Curbside and The Merchant are nearly the same (since they are both run by the curbside owner).

They don't get much love on this board, but I love Burgersmith. They have a filet burger and bison burger.

Lol no. What a terrible choice. There are at least 10 burger places better than Georges. And most cost the same amount too

Sounds like Merchant tops your list, but are we talking about your standard seasoned burger patty? My memory tells me that Roul's patties are seasoned like none other.

Roul's has like mint and parsley in them. They're a good drunk burger. Curbside or Merchant is a much better quality burger and experience.

There's nothing wrong with a Roul's burger, especially if you like that spice combination.

It's still in my top 5 BR burgers, along with the aforementioned Curbside and Merchant.
