Going to lunch today with a friend I haven’t seen in years. Looking for something a little different and cool. Not too casual or formal

Thanks

Rouj Creole is a great newer spot.

I echo Bldg5 but keep in mind most of the seating is outdoors.

Eliza on Jefferson Highway

They have a lunch special for Monday - Wednesday - it’s not too formal, but not cheesy either

Food is good

City Pork was great the last time I went after being extremely meh the few times before.

They seemed to have tightened up since the lockdown stuff happened.

If you go to bldg 5 get anything but a sandwich. Everything else is great.

Aw man, I like their sandwiches so far. I think their Short Rib Smash is great. The grilled cheese I got last time was pretty monstrous. Bldg5 original also really good.

I agree though - everything is awesome.

Haven’t had those. Will try them soon.

The chicken caprese wasn’t bad.

The two disappointing ones we got were the fichelle and the porchetta. Both were lower than jimmy johns level honestly.

Love their salads, protein plates, and dinner boards. Pretty damn good bar too.

I always come really close to getting this one, but then I re-read the description and it stops me. I think I like the idea of it more than I would actually like it in execution

Agree. That caesar-ish salad with the corn on it is great. Love the boards. Even the vegetable board is fire, which you wouldn't always expect.
