The Wife and I are making a drive up the Natchez Trace headed to Nashville. Can anyone make any recommendations for good eats along the way?

There's a "cajun" style restaurant in Santa Fe, Tennessee called Papa Boudreaux's. I can't speak to the food as I'm highly skeptical of eating Louisiana-style food outside of Louisiana, especially in Santa Fe, Tennessee.
Nonetheless, here's an article: LINK
Also, in Santa Fe/Bethel, Tennessee, there are two popular spots for cyclists and motorcyclists. One is Nett's Country Store and Deli. LINK
The other is Fly's General Store.

Can you really bring wine/liquor inside at Gibbes?? I mean it's in a dry portion of the county.

Skip the creamed spinach at Gibbes’ — not good
And don’t make a wrong turn and end up by Oakley Correctional School like I did
I’ve always liked Lorman Country Store but my last visit was not good and the place was filthy

How long ago? Mr. D was in the hospital and away from the store for a little while.

It was within the past year - he was there when we went

Holy shite! Thought I was the only one who knew about fly market.
Dude behind the counter will whip you up a bologna sandwich for a dollar.
This was a regular stop on my Saturday morning bike training rides from hell.
Yes, Papa boudreaux is less than a mile from here but they only take cash and the food is excellent.

it is legal in a "dry" county to consume alcohol, and always has been. what is prohibited is the retail sale of alcohol

OLD COUNTRY STORE is a great suggestion. Nice impromptu entertainment, interesting things to look at and good home cooking! We love to go there.

I would NEVER eat at the old country store again. The chicken is ok but they rest is not good, especially the gravy that’s made with fried chicken that stayed out on the buffet the entire day prior.

The tamale shop that is in the Donut Shop between Hwy 61 and the River at the 4 way. Great tamales and old style hamburgers.
