and you haven't been yet? Do yourself a favor and get a bag of beef jerky as well as the cracklin.

They make boudin sandwiches with different cheeses that are good for a quick cheap lunch.

I've had the boudin sandwich, but not the cracklins or jerky.

These two are not mutually exclusive. Baton Rouge isn't exactly a mecca of good boudin.

Jerry Lee's Cracklins are not very good. No place in BR makes good ones. I thought Ronnie's were ok, but its been awhile and can't remember. Bergeron's or ok. Jerry Lee's Hoghead Cheese is garbage. As far as I am concerned there is only one place that makes hoghead cheese and that is T-Jim's in Cottonport. Best boudin in the state is Best Stop. Some of the best craklins are at Bayou Boeuf Seafood in Bunkie.

Jerry Lee's for hog head cheese no doubt.

Ronnie's craklins have been inconsistant lately...
But I think we may have a new owner at Ronnies.
I will report back my findings

I really need to find an excuse to head up to Avoyelles Parish sometime soon. I've never tried T-Jim's.

I was in Baton Rouge today for a funeral and on my way back to Laffy I decided to stop. The cracklins were legit as was the beef jerky.. I also bought some shrimp and crab stuffed potatoes for tomorrow night and meat pie. I could have shopped for hours.

Either you don't get out much or you just like to troll

best stop is good, but not the best

eta: I take that first line back. everyone has their own opinion on their favorite, esp when it comes to boudin. That also means you don't have to come on here and start flaming. Jerry Lee's may not have the best cracklin, but they def don't screw it up and let it stay soggy in the middle like some folks and they have plenty of meat on the fat. It's enough to my liking to get by.

This post is FULL of fail.

Great head cheese. Decent cracklins and boudin.

aka blood boudin aka boudin rouge? I've been curious to try this. Place in Breaux Bridge has some but I haven't had the chance to try it.

What's it like?

Easiest place for me to try it is at Babineaux's in Breaux Bridge. I'll give it a shot there and if I ever make it by T-Jim's
