I'm a sucker for some good cracklins, but unfortunately I don't have time to run to Billy's in Krotz Springs (best IMO).

I've been to Ronnies a few times, but need a new place. What yall got?

I'm obviously not driving out of BR. If I wanted to, it would be to Billys for sure.

I'm pretty sure Jerry Lee's has some. I ate some before and they were OK.

Can't remember the name as I haven't been by the place in a long time, but across from Exxon Chem off of Scenic Hwy.

Bergeron's isn't exactly that far out of BR. It's just off I-10 in Port Allen. There are areas of BR farther out than than depending on where you live. It's worth the short drive over the bridge for the cracklins if you want them and a myriad of other items. They do a good job on the smoked boudin.

Now that's funny. I go to Don's a lot. Never noticed best stop.

Don's has some awesome ribeye sausage!

yeah, and it's on the opposite side of 10 from don's. Best stop is on the road to nowhere and it's not something you would notice going to don's.

Jerry Lee's does good cracklin. They hit it out of the park with their beef jerky. Boudin is just ok.

Jerry Lees is my now "go to" cracklins place. I like them a little thinner cut, and spicy, which is what they deliver. Bergerons is my 2nd, and I dont really care for ronnies unless they are super fresh.

Well, that explains it...

back on topic.. I get hungry pulling in the parking lot at Bergeron's...don's too for that matter.

correct on the first 2 but "boudin is just ok" is a wee bit off i think. some of the best boudin you'll find in BR

Jerry Lee's boudin is okay but it doesn't hold a candle to ronnie's. Jerry Lee for hogshead cheese and beef jerky

doesn't make it good. I wasn't grading on a curve based on location. I agree with it being some of the best in BR area, but there is what 3 places in BR for fresh boudin?
