When's the last time you were at Sno's?

Just before Thanksgiving a vendor brought a group of us from work there for lunch. I got a ribeye that a ribeye at Chili's would have rated higher. Tough cut of meat, dried out baked potato and a half arse salad. If I had paid for that crap I would have been pissed.

The meal was par for the course. They at least are consistent.

If you miss Burger Delight, Griffin Grille off of Hwy 74 is owned by the same people, and its the good ol Burger. Had one today.

Philay's
Gulf Net
Sante Fe Cattle Company. It's the new place where Mesa Luna used to be. It's not really great, but it's something new.

While past the OP's lunch, two additional places are Brennan's on Hwy 44 and The Italian Bowl on Airline. Brennan's is where the old Lily Pond is and I like their sandwiches. The Italian Bowl is Prairieville area where La Mestiza and several other places were, but it is cheap and decent Italian.

Don't try to eat at Santa Fe for lunch, you will be disappointed.

Do they have alcohol there?

Yes the Italian Bowl appears to have good prices on drinks. In fact they have $1 martini's on Tuesdays. I didn't see a wine list though.

Ahh, see I don't eat their steaks.

I love their baked potatos, especially the stuffed potatos.

They have great fried seafood, I don't care what anyone says.

I like driving over to The Cabin Restaurant. Right on the Southern edge of Gonzales Hwy 44.

+1 on Sno's not being a very good place.

Sno's is what I refer to as the second tier fried seafood place near Gonzales. The best place near there for fried seafood would have to be Val's Marina...

Always had good lunch at the Cabin. I have been there three times for dinner and was always dissapointed. Not sure what the deal with that was.

Based on this thread, we ate at John Michaels in Dutchtown last night. (Its on 73 in the same strip as Southpaws)

Service was great. I had the fresh dip, other 3 people in my party had different sandwiches.

Everyone said their food was okay. No greats and no complaints.

I'll try some pasta or soup next time. I really want a decent alternative to D'Angelos.

Aside from D'Angelo's, McDonald's, Subway, Burger King and Sonic, there aren't many choices along 73 in Dutchtown.

I've never eaten at John Michaels, but I do wish them success. I would really enjoy seeing more local options out there.

Burger King is a great test of anyone's patience.

But I take the test every now and again.

I completely forgot about Burger King. In three years of living in this area, I've been there twice.

The "service" is laughable at best.
