Wife and I went the Sunday night before the MNC last week. We each got the tasting menu and it was incredible. Probably the best meals we have ever had. The wines were incredible too. It wasn't cheap but its worth it to do it every now and then. Total bill was 420 with tip. We also started and ended with a cocktail too so that helped get it up there.

It was a little more casual that night because of the number of people in town for the game. Quite a few short sleeve red alabama polos.

Service was incredible as well. I believe our waitress name was Randy.

Judging by this dudes vanishing act, he's a fuggin troll anyway.


August is one of the few (possibly the only) restaurants in NOLA that I will ignore even the first negative review/critique. It's simply one of the most perfectly executed dining experiences in the entire country, hands down.

If you have a bad time/meal there, it has nothing to do with the restaurant. You simply have a fricking pineapple stuck up your arse/vag and NOTHING would have made you happy.

"Troll" is back. It was a prefixed menu and I was in the mood for filet. I didn't order the fish because I knew I'd end up finishing my wife's plate. Neither were good. August was not good and not worth the money at all. I've had other John Besh restaurants that I liked. This was not one. Maybe if we both got something different it would make us cum. This particular time was horrible and now I have a bad taste for the place.

I'm betting his arse got fired from there.

I ored the filet last time there simply because of the side items....braised oxtail and smoked bone marrow (which they actually foamed). The filet was....well filet. But the oxtail was melt in your mouth tender and the marrow was mouth coating and artery clogging goodness.
