I'm headed to new Orleans this weekend. I'd like to bring back a GF cake for the kids. Anyone have any recommendations?

Just bring back a head of lettuce with a plastic baby inside. They’ll never know the difference.

Considering my oldest was 11, losing weight and sick for 3 months before he was scoped and biopsies came back with the dx of celiac, I kind of like finding them good GF treats when I can.

Candy, cookies are easy, bread/cakes are hard, unless you are in a large city. New Orleans probably doesn't have much, but I figured this might be the best place for a good recommendation.

I would imagine the majority of bakeries in New Orleans offer gluten free options given the hipsters, health conscious, legit allergies, and housewives.

Call any of the highly regarded places and ask.

Here is an article from 2016 LINK

You are likely thinking of FARE, a spot run by Alisha Murphy (wife of Matt Murphy, of the now closed Irish House). FARE closed a couple of years ago. My celiac wife was a fan.

Of the places still around, the offerings from Sucre are good and the stuff from Girls Gone Vegan are decent.
