I will be going to Houston next month to see show and was going to bring a nice bottle of gin for the person who paid for my ticket. I would like to spend under $50. Thoughts?

I’m sure many will give you better recommendations, but Beefeater has never done me wrong. Hendricks is another good one.

There are some I like better, but Hendricks is a great one for a gift. It's a premium brand that any gin drinker would appreciate.

Get him a bottle of Blue Bottle Gin if you want to say you're fancy and make it kinda unique.

Nolet's is good, but it's really different than typical gin. When I first got a bottle I made a slightly dirty martini. Tasted like arse, Nolet is more fruity and floral than juniper-y and coriander-y. I usually just pour it over ice with a twist of lemon now, but there are recipes online.

Citadelle
Nolet's

Hendricks if you are just starting out. Good and smooth, but not made with juniper berries, so missing a key gin element.

My favorite for the money is Hayden's Old Tom. But, you need to like gin, because its a big flavor. But I like it. Its not boring like Tanquerey.

If you are looking for something unique, this liquor store had Joseph Magnus Distillery create a gin for him. I'm not a gin drinker, but this guy knows his bourbons, might be worth a go for a gin drinker...

I searched high and low and couldn't find another mom and pop shop making their own gin from scratch with their own recipe. I've seen private labels by Costco, total wine, Trader Joe's etc but those are hardly "small shops" plus I'm sure they don't create their own recipe. Coming to you today is UNITY GIN.

This gin is my baby, a project I've been working on for months with the lovely people at Magnus. The gin is my own proprietary recipe featuring Italian juniper, oro blanco grapefruit, rose water, raspberries, a touch of black peppercorn and much more. I wanted to make a gin unlike any other on the market - one that balances the juniper, pine, floral, and citrus flavors unlike any other. We did just that with Unity Gin. Then we tested it several times at many different proofs. I thought it was simply divine at 100 proof and went with that.

I urge you to try this gin against any that you have at your home or bar. I'm confident it will stand its own ground quite well. I also urge you to try this gin in any gin cocktail you can dream of as its versatile enough for them all and also unique enough where it can be consumed neat or on the rocks.

Few things to consider...my site adds insurance to the shipping charges so the shipping looks higher than it normally would. To combat that, I've activated a discount code - UNITY. So where you see "vouchers" type in UNITY and it will give you an additional 20% off the gin, bringing it down another $7 a bottle to help with some of the shipping charges. Notes below about the gin btw...

There's a new locally made gin in New Orleans. Cajun Spirits

3rd Ward

Tasted it last week at Rouse's and it's pretty good. About $24.00 You could get the vodka and the gin for under 50 bucks.
