well its a big difference from people that live with smokers on a daily basis and people that go to a bar with smokers on occasion, don't you think?

I don't think they have that stat.

But it's direct proof that second hand smoke is a killer, so regulating it out of businesses open to the public may not be the crazy terrible thing you make it out to be.

thats their choice

And it also the people's choice to support laws that regulate that.

You seem to only like your freedom your way.

I don't see the differencr between this and fire code regulations. If a bar doesn't want sprinkler systems or alternate exits it is on them. Sure, adding exits and sprinkler systems have proven to save lives, but it should be a choice.

Their customers will stop coming before long.

So innocent people should suffer just to stay "free?" That really all this comes down to.

If you hang in a bar you are not innocent.

So negligence isn't a thing business can do now?

Last I checked, everything available at a bar is available in your home. If you choose to put yourself in harms way you can't be surprised when harm finds you.

I'm guessing that defense wouldn't hold up if a bar was being investigated after a death due to a fire.

Well it is up to the bar if they are willing to take that risk, right?

So innocents suffer for that freedom. I'm fairly positive this country was not founded to protect businesses at the cost of individuals.

like I say every time this thread comes up, I would never vote for this type of ban as I strongly believe that a private business should be able to do what it wants inside its doors...

...but the selfish part of me grins because I loathe cigarette smoke

I couldn't agree more. Okay. Back to work. 13 pages to read tonight.

I don't have a keg of KBS in my home. While this would be great, it isn't feasible. So then I have to decide if it worth it to fight the cancer stick lovers and their nasty smoke to get a taste of a beer I'd like to drink.

Why should I have to decide whether to be exposed to that smoke?

I'm typically pro-business, but not everything is black and white. Smoking is a gray area, and I don't apologize for wanting it out of enclosed buildings that the public visits.
