Friday - Monday in New Orleans (itinerary and suggestions)

Heading down in two weeks with the SO (no pics) … looking for recs and I’ve booked some of these based on you baws here. Happy to cancel stuff if the board overwhelmingly hates my choices (not really though). Staying in the Quarter
Friday - open for brunch / lunch / happy hour
Friday night - Cafe Degas
Friday late - ?
Saturday - Red Dress Run
Saturday afternoon - Bacchanal Fine Wine
Saturday late dinner - Irene’s
Sunday brunch - Cafe Amelie Courtyard
Sunday dinner - Josephine Estelle
Monday brunch - open
Palladar 511? Apollinaire?

I’m sure you know but both Josephine & Irene’s are both Italian restaurants, as is Paladar (tho their brunch is a little more standard)
That being said,
Paladar > Josephine Estelle & Irene’s
If your condition is that of a normal red dresser, I would absolutely say no to Irene’s & yes to something a little more casual or trendy.
Cafe Amelie always underwhelms me but my wife loves it.
Monday brunch- run up to Alma Cafe in bywater
Friday late- jewel of the south, sylvain, Elysian bar, paladar, all have openings on Resy.

Got a suggestion if I bail on Irene’s that night. Wouldn’t mind doing Cajun casual / trendy.

Cajun is not really an out-right thing in NOLA, you just kind of see influence in bits & pieces.
Cochon is kind of the mothership, and is in the warehouse district & would be worth checking out if you really want a full Cajun-type meal
A place like Palm & Pine always has some type of nod to Cajun fare. It’s trendy & a little more playful & creative.

You are not going to want to sit outside at Baccanal after Red Dress Run. Switch it around to a place with AC.

Done and done. Is baccanal worth going to if you aren’t outside. Or is it worth going to on either Friday afternoon or kill my brunch on Sunday?

Yeah, I would just go on Friday for lunch, it’s one of my favorite spots in the city but you need to sit outside to get the full effect. They have music from 12-3. Go enjoy some wine, a cheese board, and check out their other menu items (usually pretty solid). That would give you time to go back to the hotel and freshen up before dinner (in the event that you sweated your balls off outside while at Bacchanal

Bacchanal on a summer day is a no for me. It’s hot as hell & you really can’t get into the true vibe of the place

If you're a 1/2 decent drinker, you won't be able to make half of those reservations

personally, I'd eliminate 1 of the 3 dinner places and make reservations at GW Fins. Food is the real deal especially the Scalibut.

My friend took his woman to GWF last weekend. He said it was his best NO food experience ever.
Quality, freshness, service, wine were all superior level rating.
I still say Clancy’s is the best - but I am an old fart that may not know better.
The other poster has a good tip - Peche
