It’s been years since I’ve made it, but I am going this year.

Any good items that I should not miss?

TIA

I always ending up getting the Vaucresson Hot Sausage and Lasyone Meat pie at least once.

I usually get the Baked Alaska from Antoine's, and either the Duck Poboy from Jacques-Imo's, or Sausage PoBoy from Vaucresson.. so much good food.

NEW FOR 2018 New restaurants at 2018 festival include: Café Beignet, Café Dauphine, The Company Burger, The Daily Beet, Flamingo A-Go-Go, and SoBou. New drinks include Luzianne tea, French Market Coffee, Bubly and a variety of Abita beers. This year, the food layout will be altered just a bit as well, Twitchell said. Food will take over the entire Jax Brewery parking lot, and the vendors along the riverfront will be grouped more centrally, she said.

Haven't been to this shite show since I sat down with Tom Fitz on the radio and talked about the merits of tomatoes and seafood.

May be time to head back.

At one time the most fun and accessible festival in the Quarter. Be prepared for big crowds.

We went the last three years as it aligned perfectly with Spring Break. This year, not so much. We usually go on Thursday and take the kids. We got bored last year and headed down early Saturday before the shite show. Highlight from last year were:
Jacques-Imo’s-Duck Poboy
Court of Two Sisters-Turtle Soup
Muriel’s-Crawfish & Goat Cheese Crepes and the Shrimp & Eggplant Stuffed Mirlaton
Restaurant R’evolution-Crab Beignets with Red Pepper Remoulade (different on Saturday, less crab and more beignet)
Praline Connection-Fried Jumbo Chicken Wings with Mustard Greens (ask for just the wings to save some $, unless you really want some mustards)

We ate a lot of great food that day but my memory tends to fade as the day went on...

I don't got there anymore. Seriously, WAY too crowded. If you do go, eat early. The portions are larger and lines shorter. Do bother eating after 2pm. Lines are insane and sometimes some food portions are cut nearly 50%. Much cheaper and satisfying to hit a restaurant.
