Someone posted about freezing something first then sealing.
I thought it was a great idea and now I can’t remember what item it was.
TIA

If I'm freezing a liquid, I'll put it in a disposable Tupperware container and freeze it first. Then vacuum seal the frozen block.

I do this with leftover raw burger patties

Anything with a lot of liquid like fish fillets. Also bread.

Yeah, that thread was for fish. You can also do that with soup too.

Soup , broth, gumbo, gravy, etc… I freeze in a plastic meal container. Then when frozen transfer into the vacuum bag and seal

Like others have said something with liquid. Also sometimes, doing it like this works for things that are softer so that it doesn't get crushed/deformed when sealing.

I freeze everything I vacuum pack that has the least bit of liquid. I use disposable meal containers that are perfect for a single serving. Fill it up, freeze overnight, then vacuum pack the next day. Stacks up nicely and fits well in my freezer tubs for organization. Someday i'll have a vacuum chamber packer and will be able to vacuum pack water if I wish.

I freeze anything crushable or liquid before vac sealing.
