There was a Sammy’s in St Fran. When they built the Zachary location they closed it down. I’m pretty sure it was close to where magnolia cafe is.

I used to go to the Chinese place. It was good, IDK how it is now.

And I am very fussy about Chinese food.

That makes sense, we pretty much only went to Cotton’s up until it burned down, (late 90s early 2000) then found Magnolia Cafe a couple years later, as far as in town.

Still hit up South of the Border a few times a year, it’s a shell of what it used to be, but surprisingly its still good even though it looks like it’s abandoned.

My favorite part of the Oxbow was they had a poule d’eau on the front of the menu, always made me laugh.

I just started going to south of the border here and there. Usually for lunch after a work day at the lease. I agree about it being decent. Got a blackened redfish one day and it was damn good. Magnolia cafe has a few sandwiches that I like. Their muff is not traditional (Mayo) but it works for me.

I don’t get why this is acceptable. If they have it on their menu then it should be good or they should be judged accordingly.

Right, but there was also one in St Francisville in the late 90’s . It’s been gone for a long time.

The Zachary one has only been gone a year or 2

They still had the St Fran location when Sammys in Zachary was in the old Ambrosia location (where the bar that DTL used to hang out was). Crazy times

they must have closed it down when the Zachary one moved across the hwy.

The old Sammy's location in Zachary at the strip mall before they moved across the HWY was awesome. I'm kind of disappointed I didn't go to the one in St. Franny before they closed.

Regardless, the restaurant at the Myrtles is awesome, and Magnolia Cafe is underrated, especially if you're not scared to make a left off of 61. The Francis, is really good, and the smokehouse isn't bad either.
