Leaving for tomorrow for a conference. Will be by myself, no kid, no wife, no colleagues, so I’m looking forward to it. Need a place to eat tomorrow night.. Want a good app, steak, and dessert.

Never been to Ft Worth, so I’m lost. Staying downtown in the ALoft, but will drive wherever.

A little bit farther walk but better steaks: Del Friscos and Grace.

Or a very quick Uber to Lonesome Dove would be my choice.

If you're open to having great BBQ, try anyone of these places, multiples times while you are there:

Goldees
Heim
Coopers

But if you are set on a steak, I'd avoid the chains (and nothing against steakhouse chains, some are absolutely fantastic), I'd go for the charm and environment of Cattlemen's Steakhouse at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Coopers BBQ in the stockyards. There is Lucile’s on the bricks in Old area.
Joe T Garcias is fun to sit outside if weather is nice. Food is decent Tex Mex. Riscky’s BBQ used to be good.

.

Don’t do any of this.

No offense, ZP. But the food is VERY average at all of the restaurants you listed.

And Lucille’s? For a guy traveling solo? That’s where my elderly mother likes to go. And the food is awful.

No worries. It’s been a while since I’ve been up. Those are what I remember. Much has changed I’m sure. Had family there for 25 years so that’s where we all used to meet.

I hear ya, brother. It’s a west side staple for sure. I can walk there.

(But the food blows)

Joe T Garcia's is fun and pretty good Tex Mex, though not outstanding. It is more about the atmosphere. The weather is beautiful, so I bet that they patio will be open. Call first. Not worth it, if you have to sit inside.

Easy 5 minutes from Downtown on surface streets.

We tried Paloma Suerte last time we were in Fort Worth. Tim Love Tex Max place. Margaritas were outstanding as were the venison fajitas.

I have lived in FTW area my whole life. Avoid Joe T's. It
is not good. Best part thing there is the people watching. We consider it a tourist trap that is not good but everyone from out of town wants to go there.

Hit up Lonesome Dove or Capital Grille
