It says Porchlight Grill. I did some checking but I couldn't find out anything on it.

It's a crappy location, no matter who is in that spot the place is infested with flies an vermin. Burn is down and start over.

Hopefully it’s not another mediocre seafood place

It was open last night when I passed by. Place was packed for what it's worth.

Can’t speak for the whole menu, but I thought KC’s had some of the best fried catfish around.

I saw the menu on their FB page. Looks like just another run-of-the-milk seafood joint.

Ended up getting Crawfish and they were good and easy to peel.

Porch Light Grill. Had my doubts too but been there twice now. So I had to come and here and spread the good news. Crawfish was seasoned right and easy to peel. The Bell Shrimp appetizer was amazing. Red beans and rice were top notch. Good portions too. Bar looked cool but never tried any drinks. I might have a new go-to place though.

I agree. New restaurants need the owner to be involved 100% for two years on average in order to be successful.

I thought this place would have the stain of KC’s still attached to it, that maybe they just rebranded again, but it’s under new ownership by a couple with a lot of restaurant experience...a long time manager of Sammy’s from the Jason Jackson days and his wife that worked at the Chimes. I only know him casually, a few conversations from back in the day, but he’s a super nice guy, the type of local guy that deserves to be supported.

I didn’t know all that when I stopped in this weekend, just checked em out because they had crawfish and no wait. The crawfish were fantastic, and the fried cheese was awesome. On tap they have Envie, Voodoo, and Jucifer. Our server was weak, but they haven’t even been open a week yet. My hope is that it will be like Sammy’s was back in the day, before it started to suck. I will definitely go back to try out more stuff. So many restaurants open in this town, and shoot for the middle. I think the owner wants to do a great job, knows how to run a successful restaurant, and I would love for the place to succeed because this side of town is dying for a quality, casual place like this.

Holy shite. We came here by chance because it's always busy so we figured it must be good. I quickly noticed alot of familiar stuff on the menu. And the cheese logs are exactly what Sammy's use to be. I came here to see and yep. I figured there was a tie to Sammy's. See my gripe about Sammy's recently. I'll never go back. This place is every thing Sammy's USED to be. Including the prices(burger or poboy with fries for under $10). .
my gripe about Sammy's cheese sticks
These big boys are delicious Logs!
