We honestly don't throw out much food. If I have a lot of apple, bananas, peaches, etc. I will often slice them up and dehydrate them to snack on and they last a long time like that.
I grow a pretty big backyard vegetable garden and it produces more than we need so my neighbors, family and friends benefit from it and we eat what we keep for ourselves.
I did toss about a 1/3 lb. of smoked gouda this morning that got hidden in the deli drawer and started to mold, but things like that happen very seldom.
Cooked rice is probably the one that gets tossed the most. I'll fix a pot of rice when we have beans or stew and instead of throwing it in the garbage I toss it atop my back shed for the birds to eat, and it doesn't take them long to gobble it up.

Often tossed: Raspberries, store bought salsa and hummus, avocados (surprisingly)
Avocados are the worst crapshoot. I’ll buy a handful and when I cut them open, they are either underripe and disappointing or past their prime and half rotten. More often half rotten, which is why I jump the gun on the underripe ones.

Never: Annie's Mac & Cheese (kids are specific about their brands), just about any shredded chicken dish, roast
Always dumping fruit. Kids love a variety of fruit, then will suddenly stop eating something. If I catch it in time, I will prep them to drop in the freezer for smoothies. Wife also likes to soak all of the fruit in baking soda and water because of something she saw on Instagram. Strawberries always come out looking beat up, bruised, and black spots everywhere.

But say saltine crackers, that shite will sit half opened in your pantry till ya finally get around to dumping it.
Look for these in Hispanic grocery stores. They taste fine and come individually wrapped, with 6 crackers to the pack. Really cuts down on the waste.

honestly not much goes to waste in my house.
Sometimes some cilantro and jalapenos

occasional end of a loaf of bread
bout it.

Spinach and other greens as well as fruits never go to waste in my home. I try to not buy anything I’m not going to eat.
