Food and drink in Atlanta

Going to Atlanta for a few days next week. Staying near East Atlanta, wondering what's some good places for food and drinks.
Nothing too high end for food, more like quality bar food. I'm mainly a beer drinker so any good breweries or beer bars I should check out?
I heard about this place called the porter I believe, suppose to be pretty interesting, anyone know of it?
Thanks in advance

I really enjoy Orpheus Brewing and Three Taverns. Supposedly Scofflaw is good too.

Staying near East Atlanta,
What does this mean?
Close to Decatur maybe?
Give us a bit more detail.

In Little 5 points you have the porter, wrecking bar, fox bros bbq, and the vortex. All have great food and beer options. The Porter could be argued best beer bar in atlanta.
Closer to actual east atlanta you have Argosy and Midway Pub. All these options are good just depends what you are in the mood for and where you want to be.
New Realm Brewing also just opened a pretty cool space with a really nice roof.

Ok.
Fox Brothers BBQ on Dekalb Avenue
The Vortex
Decatur is not far:
Leon's Full Service,
Brick Store Pub,
Twains,
Thinking Man Tavern
Taco Mac (local chain with tons of beers and tv's. Food is decent)
New Realm Brewery should be very close to you
George's and Mo's and Joe's in Virginia Highland are good places

Stopped at Folk Art Restaurant earlier this year and had the best Shrimp and Grits that I've ever had. It is at
465 North Highland Ave., Northeast Atl.

Banshee is in a new spot in East Atlanta Village
Argosy and the Earl are close for good beer/pub food/music
I absolutely love Ticonderoga in Krog Street Market ... great food and drink menu
Porter is decent for beer and the Wrecking Brew Pub is also good in that area (Little Five Points)
Decatur has some decent options especially the Kimball House ....

If you are looking for "good bar food" and you enjoy trying a bunch of different beer, then I cannot echo the other poster who mentioned Brick Store enough. We haven't been in a while but they have a delicious (albeit limited) menu. The brunswick stew is fantastic.

Another vote for fox bros bbq.

community BBQ is better IMO, but Fox Bros has a nicer hangout vibe
