Is it kid friendly during the day?

Probably...unless you are downtown, I suggest you go to Petrol Station instead, or go to the tour at St. Arnold's, it starts at 3 during the week.

That is legit. $7 for 5 beers. You don't even have to take the tour. Just bring a game or cards and sit in the beer hall.

I forget what time of evening we were there, but my friend's daughter (18) was not allowed in the place. We weren't even allowed to sit outside at the tables with her.

Early, I would say sure. But if you are creeping closer to happy hour than lunch your kids may be exposed to more than you want.

They were unreasonably strict with the 18 year old, even though her mother was with her (she wasn't drinking). Very different laws than LA, and like I said we were even chased from the outdoor sidewalk tables. I'd give em a quick call if you're interested to see what their house rules are (713) 228-9472.

Brought my 5 yr old there about a month ago and my sister brought her 3 yr old. They were allowed in but St Arnolds only has root beer for them to drink and no food. Bring snacks for them. The kids did okay, but I wouldn't bring her there again. It gets really crowded and loud.

ETA: Sorry was talking about St Arnolds. Got off track...

Hell yeah. Plan on heading there Saturday afternoon for some burgers and beer. It has quickly become my favorite beer stop in town. Other than the downtown Spec's.

Flying Saucer is pretty nice too, though.

And I'd second the Saint Arnold tour. Bring food and cards, and have fun.

going for the second time to the new location Saturday. If you go there, make sure you buy a pint glass when you get there so you don't have to drink out of the shot glass they give you at the door.

Get there early if you want table space on a Saturday. Taps open at 11, but it'll be standing room only by then. Last time I saw people bringing bag-chairs.

And bring an old pint glass if you don't want to buy a new one. They also give you a few dollars off glassware if you give back your tasting glass.

Pet Station is in my neighborhood. It's awesome to see how popular it has become. I remember when they first opened, they acutally used to serve breakfast. It was more of a cofee/wine/some beers place. Glad for their sucess

The master craftsman from St Arnold's is usually there. Really nice guy

Not really, no. I'm not in Houston enough to buy a place there. And I'd guess that a good price there is still out of my range.

Everyone I've met there has been really nice. The owner did a great job guiding the tour. I just wish I went when they had a DR on tap. I still enjoyed it, drank alot of weedwacker while I was there.

I only went once so maybe someone can explain...why do people bring empty 6 packs there?
