I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

I am part of are group that picks a different college football game every year and enjoy the whole game day experience. We have picked LSU for this years trips. We are coming from Wisconsin so we are looking for any tips/ideas. LSU has been on our list for years but never could get everyone together. We are coming in for the Auburn game on October 24th and are really looking forward to the trip.

So my question to you all is, what should we do during our trip, what are the "don't miss" things, tailgating tips or any ideas on how to enjoy the whole LSU experience in our short time here.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Let me try to think some things up, but in the mean time you need to post this on the tiger rant as well.

ETA: sorry, just saw that you had.

How old are you guys? I avoid the tourist bars mentioned above. Try Lafitte's Black Smith and Frenchmen St.

Corner of Bourbon and St. Philip. Frenchmen street is on the other side of Esplanade.

Next time your in the quarter, skip Razoo and go to the Gold Mine on Dauphine.

You're going to see a tailgating experience that rivals both the Packers and the Brewers (former season ticket holder here). Make friends with some of the tailgators and you'll sample some premium Louisiana fare.

As previously stated, get there early.

Lafitte's is the best bar in NO, last time I was there I decided Ohio State fans were the 2nd best int he country. Ok, I was drunk.

Sorry, but I gotta recommend Commander's Palace for dinner on Friday. It is my choice for best overall restaurant in the city. On Saturday morning you could eat at Brennan's for breakfast before heading to LSU. As far as bars go, my personal favorite is The Napoleon House. I also highly recommend Pat O'Briens... everyone should experience their piano bar and a hurricane at least once.

Razoo and Bourbon Street Blues Company are more for young college kids who don't know any better. Napoleon House and Lafitte's are much better.

I just got back from New Orleans.

Bayona Thursday night-awesome going down, not so awesome coming up at like 5 in the morning

GW Fin's Friday night-one of the better seafood places I've been to within the past few years

Yo Mamma's at like 1 AM Sunday morning-instantly sober after the peanut butter burger

I can't really take the time right now, but would someone place hook this guy up and find the post from "halifax".

It is a similiar situation as a group is coming in from Canada to see LSU play UF and they are staying the first night or two in N.O. then heading to BR. Lots of good recommendations in that thread.

If you can only have one dinner in N.O., make it at Commanders. Probably not the best, but the best at being what N.O. is about.
