I agree, Fuji sucked hard. I've always been a big fan of WAKA House.
Gotta go with Maison Lacour, Brandt's Maisonette, and Lagniappe.
Razoo and Bourbon Street Blues Company are more for young college kids who don't know any better. Napoleon House and Lafitte's are much better.
Sorry, but I gotta recommend Commander's Palace for dinner on Friday. It is my choice for best overall restaurant in the city. On Saturday morning you could eat at Brennan's for breakfast before heading to LSU. As far as bars go, my personal favorite is The Napoleon House. I also highly recommend Pat O'Briens... everyone should experience their piano bar and a hurricane at least once.

Thanks for telling us what is necessary to justify a ranking. Could you please tell me how Texas has justified theirs?
Their performance from last year, their returning starters, and their victory over Texas Tech, just to name a few...
What grocers in the area sell prime beef? I haven't been able to find any.

Alonzo Lewis wears #27, but since SJH runs the Delaware Wing-T they don't throw the ball much. Also, their QB this year isn't very good, and doesn't throw very accurate passes. When Lewis DOES actually get the ball in his hands though, look out. He caught a screen pass against East St. John, stiff-armed the defender, and ran 91 yards for a TD. Unfortunately, from what I have heard he has a bad attitude and tends to get into trouble. He didn't play this past week against Patterson due to a pulled hamstring.

If LSU can beat both Georgia and Florida, then they will have proven that they are worthy of their Top 5 ranking. Up to this point, they haven't done that.
re: just wanted to say that we have to be the worst 4th ranked..

I gotta agree. I don't see LSU beating any of the other teams in the Top 10, and not many in the Top 25, to be honest. I think 4 or more losses this season is probable.

BLUE MESA GRILL GUACAMOLE
2 medium ripe avocados, seeded
1½ ounces red salsa
1 tsp. serrano pepper, seeded and minced
½ small red onion, diced
1 small tomato, diced
1 TB. cilantro, chopped fine
1 wedge fresh lime
¼ tsp. kosher salt
dash of white pepper
dash of granulated garlic
pinch of crushed dried oregano
Score avocado pulp while in shell and scoop pulp into bowl. Using two forks, mash the pulp into chunky consistency.
Add remaining ingredients (increase amount of serrano pepper for a spicier guacamole) and mix until fully incorporated.
Transfer guacamole to a serving bowl and serve with tortilla chips. Makes about 2 cups.

I don't think he wants to shell out the extra $$ to pay a manager.
Yep... and The Bourbon Mall makes one of the best steaks I've ever had. They also make some fried tamales which are pretty tasty...
Well, I usually go to The House of Seafood in Bush, but some people suggested that I try White's for a change.

White's in Husser
Posted by PITT on 9/28/09 at 8:52 am
Anyone ever been to the seafood buffet at White's in Husser? Was thinking about making the drive this weekend to try it...
I tried the lemonade/maple syrup/cayenne cleanse. Lost a lot of weight quickly, but it was hard to stick to (I just like food way too much.) I also took bentonite ash which was supposed to help remove the "spackle" from colon walls... :yack:
It's official-- Mississippi food RULES
Posted by PITT on 9/28/09 at 8:44 am
Over the past year or so, I've traveled to various regions of Mississippi, and I've been thoroughly impressed with what I've found. Here are some of my favorites:
Mammy's Cupboard (Natchez)
Lorman Country Store (Lorman)
The Bourbon Mall (Bourbon)
The Dinner Bell (McComb)
Crystal Grill (Greenwood)
Mama Hamils (Ridgeland)
Country Fisherman (Jackson)

I've never been all that impressed with Johnny's. The food is good, not great-- but really, where is there any better pizza in the area? It always bothered me that the pizzas on the buffet just sat there on a table (not on a hot buffet line, like most places) and got cold and flimsy really quick... not sure if that has changed since they moved to the new location. Service has always been subpar.
Definitely try the banana cream pie for dessert
