Thinking about making a fig chutney to serve with some pork loin or maybe a balsamic vinegar/fig reduction...thoughts?

spice up that pork to go with the sweetness of the figs..no balsamic you already have great flavors, why mask them?

here is a good base. I don't remember what the hell i did, but it sounds really similar to this one...but i didn't use cinnamon sticks. Added a little dash of allspice instead and it came out really well.

There's a recipe in the Ad Hoc cook book. I haven't tried it yet, but here it is online: Fig Stuffed Pork Loin

Excellent...sounds good.

I may just have to buy 2 ports (one for drinking and one for cooking)...I just rarely use it for cooking.
