I'm really proud of the Dallas brewers. They are making some damn fine beer. I'm sure la brewers are the same.
I agree with this. I want the local guys to brew stuff comparable with the best. NOLA is coming close and Parish has serious potential. Good to hear that the Dallas breweries have stepped it up.

Haha, yeah. Brewstock had some Belgian yeast on sale and I had a hankering for an IPA.

Never had it (that I remember). You like?

Just messing with you. I usually don't like Belgian IPAs. Had a good one the other night from a local brewer. May be the first Belgian IPA I've liked.

I want to support the Baton Rouge brewery. But right now they just make meh beer. Supposed to meet with them next week though about upping the ante. Hopefully that gives them a little kick in the arse.

This recipe is a Ruination clone with the Wyeast Ardennes strain. Who knows how it will come out. Hopefully okay.

Start your own! That's what impressed me about Denver. So many 2 man operations. They brew all day then bartend in their tasting rooms at night. Some really great beer too.

Tell me about it. Same thing in Colorado Springs when I was there a month ago. Tasting rooms aren't allowed here in Louisiana. If we can get some laws changed, maybe that becomes a viable option. But the all powerful distributors with all the money will fight it tooth and nail.

That's the problem in Texas too. Amazing how these conservative, pro business legislators in Texas totally screw the small business guys.

3BD is a Southern Tier 2XIPA.

The recent legislation regarding wine and liquor self-distribution has opened the door for beer, IMO.

Brewers in Texas are finally able to call beer over 4%, beer rather than malt liquor.

Very good. I tried it a couple of days ago for the first time. Very well balanced with malt--perhaps too balanced for rutiger.

I guess I'm with rutiger. A DIPA should not be balanced. I want it to scorch the zits off my face.

FBD - Saint Arnold DR 12 - Finally back in Texas
Getting out of Mexico wasn't as clean as I had expected and I didn't have time to stock up. However, I had more than enough Cali beer to hold me over until next time.

I am looking forward to their Envie IPA, due out in the fall.
Their website says it will be an APA.
