I am impressed. It reminds me of Heady, I keep looking for chunks in it. I could smell it as soon as I opened the bottle, and I have smoked a couple bowls today. I'm not sure I have had a dipa this tropical. I keep thinking they mixed fruit juice with it. I get a soapy after taste every now and then but not after every sip. 8.5% with the tropical refreshing taste and smell could get dangerous in the summer because I could suck these things down on a warm summer day. With yall's warm humid climate this is a perfect beer. No one was making a beer this good when I lived there, y'all are lucky to have it. I believe the hype.
Have any of y'all inquired about a sixtel? What are they asking for em and can you get them straight form the brewery? If anyone can get a line on them fresh, let's talk.

FBD - Hop Venom. Left my phone on my desk, so no pictures.
Lunch got interesting. Some hipster got drunk early and started spouting his politics and a couple of other people sitting at the bar started to good naturedly egg him on. He didn't like it and got really mad at one of the guys making fun of him and grabbed the other guy's beer and threw it on the floor. The other guy politely aske the drunk guy to buy a replacement for his beer and the drunk guy said he wanted to fight, instead. The drunk guy would've gotten the shite beat out of him, if some of us hadn't step in between them and kept the peace.
The bartender asked the drunk guy to leave and after he left, bought me and a couple of other guys a beer for keeping things from getting out of hand. First time I've ever seen anything close to a fight in the two years I've been hitting taprooms in Portland...
Good times...
ETA: Saving my last GitM for the game tonight...
ETA part deux: GitM would be on my list of best DIPAs, but I was trying to keep the list local because there are a number of FBDers coming to Portland in the next few months and I wanted to give them a list of local beers to look for.

NBD- I like the hops in this but it is too malty for my taste. Balance is for riding a bike, not a double ipa

come on, those wires and pole really tie the whole over cast day view together. If you look closely you can probably see a few O&G people jumping out of the windows of the Hess building
