The Headshake was supposed to be the star. I hope it wasn't too flat...
It was excellent. The SH was still the star though, IMO.
The fresh hopped beers were nice. The Vermont goodness was the star of the show imo. Hill farmstead, lawsons and alchemist.

Some of those dusty IPA's you sent back with my friends made it out yesterday. Never has the Pacific NW been better represented south of I-10. The only thing that came close to competing was the bbrou closet aged Ghost. So rare it didn't even have a Manifest date.
Thanks for the compliments on the jambalaya. I'm sure it would've gone great with that Chocolate Rain I somehow missed.
Beer didn't sound good earlier, but it was in my heart so I let it out...
FBD-Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. SO good.
2BD-Liquid Bliss

I went to some of the practices last week. Pitching (depth) and catching has me worried. Defense and hitting will be solid this year.
But back on topic... if you've never had shipyard, you should try it!

I have no idea if I tasted that or not. I was "OK" until the imperial stouts and barrel aged stuff. After that, not so much.

It was a nice hop showdown between Portland and Vermont. HF Double Galaxy, Lawson's Sip of Sunshine, The Crusher, and Sticky Hands were all standouts for me.
Thanks to Kim for hosting and everyone for the beers
...and RU for letting me sleep on his couch

I have another one with your name on it. I think rouge has a couple as well, so we have you covered....you just have to make us more jambalaya

If I had known it was going to be a showdown, I would have planned better. I just sent down what was available out on the west side of Portland in growlers. It's very tough to get the top local IPA's in a growler. The brewers won't allow it. They feel that their beer is best enjoyed in a pint fresh from the tap. As long as they sell all their product, they won't let the taprooms sell growlers.
Getting the Headshake took me twisting the arm of the owner of a local taproom owner that I've become friends with. Unfortunately, it had a bad cap, and was leaking as I went to box it up and I'm not sure it was 100%.
So if you're ever in Portland and are looking at choice of beers that you don't recognize, just ask the bartender which ones they won't sell by the growler. That's probably your best bet...

Did TCO talk you into blasting tee shots over your neighbors houses ?

No, this was not discussed. I'd guess I would have given the green light though. We were having fun.
