I live and work here.

Cerebral has a few good looking collabs on tap. A triple IPA w/ Outer Range and a double with dancing gnome, plus a new one of their own. Gonna try to swing by tomorrow after the Braves/ Rockies game

I did not know that. Comrade has a collabs with Breakside Brewing. You interested in meeting up for a beer tomorrow?

Let’s plan another time. We’re going with my wife’s friends and I have zero idea how that’s going to turn out afterward.

I haven’t been to comrade in a while but it’s one of the few places in the area we can take our pup. I saw the breakside and la cumbre collabs, though. Did you try either?

Nope. Not yet. I want to give them a whirl, though.

You probably didn't notice, but you are 2 posts away from 20K. I was at Russian River Brewing for my 20K post and I didn't realize it until Coater told me. It seems like yesterday...

Such an underwhelming day. Made a beer run for a buddy then decided I’d finally hit Lamplighter over in Cambridge. I’d been twice before, but always in a car. Cambridge sucks for parking, so both times I went home before ever actually making it to the spot. But today I was on foot, so I figured there’d be no issues. I finally get out there and there’s a line out the door that’s a fricking block long!
And all for some stupid West Coast IPA release. I like Lamplighter, but I’m not trying to stand in a line for it. I guess some things just aren’t meant to be!

Popped over to Lord Hobo for a whole lot of meh.

FBD Lord Hobo Glorious
2BD Aslin Big Silly — I knew what I was getting, it was one of those stupid milkshake IPAs, and it disappointed as expected
3BD Equilibrium Photon — not nearly as good as others I’ve had from them

Oh, and let it be said that those three beers set me back almost $36 before tip. This is why I don't go to Cambridge.

Home now where at least I know what I’m getting. Ha.

FBD and 2BD were Burial Goldenfeathers.

3BD is a Unidragon. Love this, but haven't seen it in a while.

I like draft beer, and I've been paying attention to the cost and Denver is definitely higher than Portland. I'm having trouble finding the local dive bars with craft beer here.

Anyway, switching to brown...

I paid $13 for a fricking 4.8% pale ale. It was freshly tapped so not on the menu yet, bartender just told me they had just put it on. My fault for not asking, I guess. But as I was looking at the menu, everything on it was a little pricey. Boston is obviously not NOLA in terms of pricing, but other places in the city are far more reasonable.

I guess it's that Cambridge/Hahvahd surcharge.

That's insane. Come to Portland. You can pay for your plane ticket with the money you save on beer...

My wife and I still have a 4 day weekend left to plan. Is Portland worth it?

I hear ya. On my list. My summer this year is going to be dedicated to getting the girlfriend moved up here and us moving into a new place. I doubt we take any trips. I'll probably try to convince her that we need a fall trip. We will see if she will let me drag her to a beer destination. Ha.

Trillium gets a lot of shite because “all their beers taste the same,” but I don’t think that’s true. And it’s especially false when you get into their DDH line. They really take on the unique character of their dominant hops. I don’t know that I could blind identify each one, but there are a few that I know I could. This is probably one.

Also, their DDH beers are magnitudes better than the base versions. There are some of the base versions I’ll barely touch now. But I’m spoiled and I know it.
