Happy Birthday to Mr. Longtail.

FBD is from NOLA. This is the second time I've had this one and it is really good. I will buy this again.

FBD - Baerlic Black Grove BBA Imperial Stout. This beer checks some boxes and misses on others. Love the bourbon flavor, and the viscosity. It is straight bourbon, though, and lacks the balance from the base stout. I would expect more roasted barley or chocolate flavors to balance things a bit. Still a decent bourbon bomb.

Wrestling season starts tonight. My son will be a senior this year, wrestling at 160 lbs.

New England Style double dry-hopped DIPA with El Dorado, Citra, and Simcoe Hops!

A NOLA commercial brewer I was friends with used to get pissy about this. Probably still does. He would ask how was there a "double dry-hopped" version of a beer when there isn't a single dry-hopped version? If there's no single version, if you don't establish a baseline, isn't what you're doing just dry-hopping? What you're doing is just marketing. Buzzwords.

Not that I care. Just something to chew on. That Finial used to be a turd. Glad it's improved!

oh and FBD was an Alter Ego, second BD was a Nelson the Greeter by Port, and now we drink brown until we can't because hell week is over

This Vert Drinks. It is finishing clean and isn't a malt bomb. It seems like it is closer to the Galaxy hops family (could be way off on this), which I like.

On another note, Parish needs to get on board and start canning these limited IPA's and DIPAs, especially in larger formats. Everybody's doing it, and I find it easier to ship than 12oz bottles.

Sometimes I have 2 FBDs. Sometimes I start out with the SBD.

Just because...

When I first moved to Oregon, most beers we're bottled in 22 oz bombers. Since then, breweries like Block 15, Crux, Culmination, Base Camp, Rogue, Ex Novo, Baerlic, etc, have started canning. I still like drinking in taprooms because of the freshness, the one offs, and the fact that many breweries are tap only. However, I love the trend. I'm hoping more breweries follow Oskar Blues lead and can their BA beers.

That’s the word on the street. And I don’t see why it wouldn’t carry over to all their beers. Except the reserves
