I'm not. Got to get to natchitoches with my dad to get things in order. The river flooding made a pretty big mess up there on the lake.

That is a good assessment of that beer.

I've listened to a fair amount of Mogwai lately. Guess that's why I've been so quiet.

Shutting shite down. By my count --

4 Rolling Rocks
2 Envies
1 Urban South Holy Roller IPA (super mediocre, so much for hoping for hoping we'd get a local IPA worth a shite in this city -- but I'll try again on a super fresh palate )
2 Envies
2 Founders All Day IPAs
and my LBD

I may have missed a beer or two somewhere in there. Whatever. Good friend obligations were fulfilled.

I personally don't think Old Mad Joy is that level of good, but this good for people that want to trade. Hype train is rolling. Nails down my view of AMT. Personally I'd have Envie higher. Just good to see LA get some love. Still, a major disappointment -- I really want him to dedicate a review to the dumpster fire that is the Bayou Teche 5th Year Sour.

Just like you mentioned in another thread craft beer is the trendy thing down here. The taprooms are the places to be seen and lots of people are drinking craft beer. However it doesn't seem to translate to people buying up these bombers on the shelves and taking them home to dissect the water profiles. Meanwhile the mavens are to busy shipping off GiTM for whalez.
