NBD-Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Stout. Strong PB nose, didn't make it into the taste nearly as well

NBD is a Commotion. Contemplating evening plans.

FBD pour of Grace & Grit. Not quite as tasty as it was a few weeks ago but still serviceable. Is Fournette a man or what?

Long day. Got to Avenue @ 5:45, left a little after 4

BDs:

Mikkeller Spontanframboos
Grimm Psychokinesis
Grimm Rainbow Dome
New Glarus Belgian Red
Cantillon Grand Cru
Oude Beersel Oudeu Geuze Veille
Cantillon Kriek
Cantillon Iris Grand Cru
Cantillon Rose de Gambrinus
3F Oude Geuze
Cantillon Zwanze 2015
Kriek de Ranke
Cantillon Saint Lamvinus
Parish Neopolitan Milk Stout

What a miserable experience. Avenue was full of musky-smelling, beard-wearing beer nerds, and every beer tasted infected. I have no idea why anyone would want to Zwanze ever. Don't go. Stay home. Leave it for the suckers.

Also, I stopped at Midcity Bulldog for the Parish beer and it tasted like their taplines + liquid Tootsie Rolls. So that's no good either.

ETA: thanks to ut for being great company today.

Zwanze is the ultimate beer geek day. There is so much rare.

Heard a guy tell his girlfriend that she needed to order the Grand Cru because, "it is hard to get"

I was walking to toilet pour some recycled, infected beer, and as I walked by a guy took a sip of his beer, turned to his friend, and said, "It's like a shock to your phallus."

I immediately burst out laughing. What does that even mean? Furthermore, who is shocking their phallus? And who even says phallus?

I went last year for my one and only. I guess if I liked the style it might would make a difference. By the time Zwanze came I had no chance of really enjoying it like one should. My taste buds were numb to the infection.

I know UT likes that stuff so it is like his Christmas.

NBD at Pizza Port Ocean Beach.

PP BA Chocolate Coffee stout, Modern Times Cherry Gose (a referral from List) and a Bacon and Egg porter (shades of Pipeworks)

FWIW, their stout is damn close to being at a BCBS level. Damn good

I tried that one a few years ago. Had to drain pour it. It’s kinda like getting your dick sucked by a clown: a sweet, shameful event that makes for an interesting story, but no one could bring it to full completion unless you are a truly sick individual.
