FBD Chandeleur Lil' Smack IPA

Pretty heavy on the malt. Not much citrus, more bready. Spicy, tomato aftertaste. No nose to speak of. Overall, not terrible, but pretty far from my style.

Et : halfway through I stopped paying attn and thought I was drinking an ESB. This just tastes like a bad ESB

FBD:

I probably haven't had this one in 5 or so years. It's a really nice stout that's overlooked more than it should be

Cant tell you the last time I had SN's stout. Will have to revisit soon.

No BD tonight, been drying out since MG and fighting a cold.

It is hard to stay cold/flu free this time of year with all the stuff going around.

4BD is an Abrasive. I've had my fair share this year, but I am still going to miss it when its gone.

Fbd. This was the lone pack in the Shell station cooler right outside the neighborhood.

Knew I was taking a risk because they label their dates (if that even is code for a date) in a way I don't understand, but it actually doesn't taste very old.

Hmm.

That photo is number 666 on my camera roll.

From Fresh Beer Only:

quote:

Lagunitas: Uses a bottling date. Julian date code which is written in black on the neck of the bottle. There are 2 lines. First line has 3 digits followed by a space, then one more digit. The first three digits represent the day of the year, last digit is the last number of the year. Ex: 135 3 would be the 135th day of 2013 (May 15). Second line is batch number and military time.

FBD is a new one to me. Don't know if Alexanders is far behind or if this is a newer one to our market. I'm not completely sold on the awesomeness of Mosaic hops so this six pack has a lot riding on it.

Thanks LST. Stuff like this really puts shite in perspective. I am going to have a few more for him. The day he goes, I will have to drink a Bud Light because that is his favorite beer.

I can't think of a better reason to drink a Bud Light.

I remember someone saying there was a code to their date; just never took the time to look it up. I guess I liked the mystery since I always knew we get older Lagunitas beer here

Turns out, the set of numbers I've been looking at before tonight wasn't even where they print the date.

Thanks, LST. You enabled my laziness, and I love that!
