Sad to say my favorite food memory is a Cuco’s somewhere in Dallas. I was 18 and had gone to Europe to stay with our exchange students family for 6 weeks. Being a teenager all I wanted to eat were pizzas, burgers, etc., and they had none of this where we were at. When we touched down all I wanted was Mexican food and dr. peppers.

My mother made some kind of concoction in a pressure cooker called porcupine meatballs. Burger made into meat balls packed with rice, tomato, etc and pressure cooked.
I have no clue how she did it, but it was damn good. She did have the cooker blow up one time. That was a helluva mess.

Probably as a kid when once a month Mom and Dad would pick up Sunrise Fried Chicken. Obviously this wasn't about how delectable Sunrise was but more about the excitement of the "event" of it all.
Sunrise WAS some good yardbird though.

For food and ambience, and the time of life, I remember going to a seafood boil place outside of New Iberia called Mire's, I think, on Friday nights.
