Yeah, I think little things like stoking the fire by naming the wrong psychotic owner is part of the problem with this story.

It's like the SJWs in this city didn't learn a damn thing from the Seth situation.

This is just another example of dumb arse people getting offended so easliy and the owner making the mistake of responding to dumb arse social media.

No one person should have this type of power to impact a business over such a small incident.

So the fault clearly lies.....with the business owner who responded unprofessionally and the employee who did the dumb thing in the first place. Anyone in hospitality encounters countless people who take offense, are disgruntled for one reason or another, or are aggrieved. If you have no skills in soothing the customer, your hospitality business will fail. Pointing fingers at people who amplify the gaffe is missing the point.

I will now support this restaurant. Tired of the walking on egg shells and bashing of places bc they “possibly” racist or labeled racist. Racist come in all colors so, good food gets my green every time. I don’t care about their political views. I want good food in my mouth bc my time is limited on this earth.

There are more issues in life then all this BS and complaining.

LE, you are trashing this business based on hearsay from a facebook account that you probably don't even know the source of.

You have already proven you are running with incorrect facts that can be easily validated.

Take a step back and evaluate the situation without being emotionally attached.

Seriously asking, what can they do?

I feel like you gotta can the person who did the deed, make a donation to the ACLU, rebrand entirely (i.e., go out and protest), and then give a discount when Essence Fest comes to town instead of closing down. I say the last part somewhat tongue in cheek, but let's call it what it is -- in today's world, if you screw the pooch in this way, you have to go above and beyond to prove that you are actually apologetic and have learned from it. Otherwise you're just trying to swim upstream.

So, you want them to pay a ransom and fake their political beliefs?

In today's world they have no chance of recovering their image. They just need to let time wash it over to the next thing.

For reference, John Besh admitted to it, apologized, and did everything you have recommended and BRG still gets shite on by the same people who are shitting on FBP.

Shaya meanwhile denied it, blamed everyone else, and faked a new image and he seems to be doing ok.

I trashed their apology

It was bullshite. If there’s nothing to apologize for, that’s fine. Seems like they thought there was tho

They’ve done nothing to clear up what allegedly happened & that tells me a lot.

They said something insensitive? Prob so. Nothing on the surface that would keep me going back from there.

But that attempt at an apology? Eh, you need to be better than that. Bunch of kids I’m sure. Imagine your employer taking that stance in the same situation. It’s laughable

You are the bigot and you are telling me I suck? Lol

It’s not your fault you are conditioned the way you are. But you can control your own stubbornness.

Listen & understand. Open your mind. Like it or not, these are your neighbors. Our country was built on their backs. The laws & morals of this country were constructed to hold them down for way too long. Their privilege has not been developed the same as yours.

You can brush this off easily, but if you don’t understand why it’s insulting to them, that’s on you.

This reminds me of the movie Point Break where all the bank robbers wear mask of ex presidents. I love that movie.

I don't. I've never been there, so maybe I'm out of my depth here. Probably won't go now regardless of what they do. I just don't go to that part of town if I can help it, so I'm maybe not a good litmus test of whether or not this would be enough to placate those who are (in my opinion, justifiably) upset. But as a business owner, you gotta play the game, right? That's just pragmatism. I guess you could swing the other way and just embrace it, hoping for the Proud Boys (hyperbole) to float your business. Or I guess you could wait it out. I don't see the bottom lines, but I don't think BRG was hurting pre-COVID, so maybe that's enough if you have the capital to weather the storm. There will always be some that won't forgive, but my guess is that if you have a solid product and try to "make it right" you can win people back. But I don't own a small business, I don't want to, so this is all speculation on my part.

No Earl ..but I am not going to defend myself on TD from you.

That said, why do you think everyone is holding their phone up while they protest/riot? They are looking for their social media moment to post something that will make them famous no matter what the cost.

KnowIng this owner, who can be a little rough, he was just kidding and this person is looking for her 15 mins and found it.

Why not just tell the guy you hurt my feelings, call him out and get the apology right there and keep it off social media?

Did you see the comments on social media? Jesus? Shut his business down for this comment. This is where we are as a society?
